About the Author Allison Christalyn lives in Columbus, Ohio, where she rides horses every chance she gets. A licensed pilot at age seventeen, she also enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and hanging out with her family. Charlotte's Birthday Surprise is her first book for young readers. Illustrating Charlotte's Birthday Surprise Ann Kronheimer was born in London and studied fine art at Hornsey School of Art. Before becoming a successful illustrator, she held odd jobs that included gardening and working in a movie theater. Now she spends her days drawing in her studio, overlooking a garden of her own. Allison and Ann found each other across the Atlantic Ocean via the Internet.
