When seer Chavali first joined the agents of the Fallen, she gained a life she never expected. But managing this much idiocy? Not in her original agreement. On top of trying to hide her fledgling relationship with Colby from every gossip in the Tower, Chavali clashes with the Administrator's infuriating replacement at every turn. A mission should come as a relief. But when the new idiot-in-charge sends an ill-advised team on a vague mission with laughable guidance, Chavali's usual bitter predictions find unexpectedly fertile ground. The oppressive heat and damp clinging to the lush flora of Palmia Basin prove only the first of many unforeseen problems. For underneath the flower-bedecked shops and colorful tiled streets of the river town, crime and corruption fester like a creeping mold, waiting to burst into violence. And to drag Chavali and Colby into a sucking morass that just might rip them apart forever. In this explosive sixth book of The Greatest Sin Series, Charred Roots shows once again that "Kort and French are daring storytellers who aren't afraid to yank the rug from beneath the audience's feet." Autorenporträt
Lee French lives in Olympia, WA, with two kids, two bicycles, and too much stuff. In addition to spending too much time on the Myth-Weavers game forum, she also trains in taekwando, keeps a nice flower garden with one dragon and absolutely no lawn gnomes, works an excessive number of book events, and tries in vain every year to grow vegetables that don't get devoured by neighborhood wildlife. She is an active member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and the Northwest Independent Writers Association, as well as serving the Olympia region as a NaNoWriMo Municipal Liaison.
