What happens when war destroys everything you know? When after a decade your heart refuses to believe that your daughter is dead? Ajahadé hides in the shadows. She knows that if the government discovers the slightest clue she is alive, they'll kill her and everyone she knows. Yet her heart aches for her people and longs for the daughter she lost during the war-is she still alive? Then tragedy strikes and everything is called into question. Can she emerge from the shadows or will she be killed in the process? Some connections between humans are so strong and love so true that time, wars, and pain cannot break them. But fear-fear is torturous. It causes those it infects to believe they are helpless and to fall in defeat. Sarah thought her adopted parents would love her; she was wrong. Damaged by the abuse, she fled and vanished from anyone from her past. But Richard had promised that if she ever left, he would find and kill her. He is a man of his word. Living on the run and watching over her shoulder, Sarah unexpectedly stumbles into someone from her childhood and into a whirlwind of warmth and love. But, as the waves of mystery appear she realizes that life-and those around her-are not what they appear. Figures lurk in the shadows waiting for the perfect moment to charge. Will she be ready? Is love enough to fight fear? Can right win against wrong; morality defeat brutality?Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
D.L. Hays is author of novels that combine suspense, psychological thriller, action, adventure, and romance. Because her objective is to highlight human connections and the strength of the human spirit, her characters are realistic and believable. D.L. Hays grew up in a small town in North Carolina. Becoming bored with the rarely-changing environment, she began creating stories to entertain her brother. This pastime soon turned into a love for writing. Her writing endeavors were put on hold temporarily while she achieved her education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the University of Maryland. Graduating summa cum laude, DL Hays began a career in scientific research (examining human memory) and later transitioned to Industrial Organizational Psychology as a human capital consultant. Outside of business hours, D. L. Hays uses her background in psychology to help domestic violence survivors, children of inmates, senior citizens, and homeless individuals. These experiences inspired her writing and led her to finish writing a novel. This novel would later become her first published novel, titled Chase. In her spare time, D.L. Hays sails, mountain bikes, hikes, swims, skis, and trains her Australian Cattle Dog. She is often seen spending time with her husband or hanging out with family and friends.
