One in five British adults admits to having an affair, whilst a third says they thought about it. Of those who say they have had an affair, only half have stopped at one. A quarter had two affairs, whilst 20% had three or more. Women are flattered by the attention of a stranger, are emotionally neglected, or deprived of sexual gratification in their relationship to seek solace in the arms of another. Men too enjoy the flattery, but usually express dissatisfaction with their sex life. Both enjoy the thrill of the chase, and its illicit outcome. Autorenporträt
'Terri' - Theresa Anne Peterson, (nee Philips) - was born August 19th, 1969, and spent what she referred to as 'a miserably failed experiment in tyranny' at a typical secondary school, where she was bullied relentlessly, and made fun of. She left there with no regrets, only a handful of the pre-requisite qualifications to begin a career in the banking sector, and bitter memories of her time spent being the object of ridicule by most of her peers. Myopic, gauche, skinny and flat-chested, as well as sporting a head of rich auburn hair, made her a daily target for abuse, which she escaped by becoming immersed in the fantasy world of writing short stories, usually with her as the heroine. In 1987, she met, and married, Simon Peterson, and, in 1989 she gave birth to her first daughter, Veronica. Erin followed in 1991, forcing her to put her career on hold and concentrate on being a full time mother. Juggling her workload around earning enough money to keep a roof over their heads, she began to put together a semi-autobiographical story of a woman whose life mimicked that of her own. The character of Suzy Pym was born and her first novel, 'Plaything' was written.
