This book under the title "Chemical Modification by Washing of Denim Ready-Made Garments (RMG) to Develop Novel Designs", has been studied. For this purpose, 100% cotton indigo-dyed fresh denim garments has been chemically washed by different washing techniques, using various parameters in controlled experimental conditions in order to produce novel denim designs by developing the properties of denim garments with customer's satisfactions and reducing/minimising environmental pollutions. In this investigation, the fresh denim garments (trousers) were washed with enzyme (namely acidic and neutral), stone-enzyme, bleach, and stone-bleach washing techniques and characterised their physico-mechanical properties. The experimental results have been drawn on the effect of strength, weight, stiffness, elongation at break, water absorption, moisture regain and moisture content, dimensional and colour shade change and analysed scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fluorescence microscopy (FM).
