Autorenporträt
A former newspaper reporter and magazine writer, Priscilla Cummings is the author of many books for children and young adults. Her most notable children's books are her Chadwick the Crab series, which includes: Chadwick the Crab, Chadwick & the Garplegrungen, Chadwick Coloring book, Chadwick's Wedding, Chadwick Forever, Chesapeake ABC, Chesapeake 1-2-3, Chesapeake Rainbow, Meet Chadwick and His Chesapeake Bay Friends, Santa Claws: The Christmas Crab, and Toulouse. In 2008, she released Beetle Boddiker, a story about a nervous beetle and his adventures. Priscilla Cummings grew up on a dairy farm in western Massachusetts and received a BA in English from the University of New Hampshire. As a reporter for twelve years, Cummings covered a variety of topics and has been awarded several journalism awards, including the UPI's Journalist of the Year for Virginia in 1980. She won Metro-Washington Association for Childhood Education International's literary award for her efforts to promote literacy and help young readers develop an awareness and a sense of responsibility for the Chesapeake Bay. Priscilla Cummings lives in Annapolis, Maryland, where she divides her time between writing and visiting schools.
