Asthma is a reversible airway inflammatory response with wide range of severity. Asthma episodes are characterized by wheeze, cough and chest tightness. Many causes that trigger asthma episodes such as breathing cold air, environmental insults, nasal dripping caused by allergy, esophageal re-fluxes diseases, and sensitivity to aspirin. Prerequisites for treatments are to stop smoking, getaway from environmental insults and medically supervised treatment using anti-inflammatory and broncho-dilators drugs.

The author interests on asthma began when he was supervisor and Physiologist in the Pulmonary and Critical Medicine Division at LAC&USC Medical Center, Los Angeles,USA. During which time he was Professor of Physiology, Epidemiology and Biology at CSU's. He has been professor of Physiology at Salman Abduaziz University and King Saud University.
