Amaresh Biswal (born June 13, 1972 at Gachhipur, Jajpur) is a powerful young short story writer whose micro stories have created a strong visibility among Odia short story lovers. Amaresh started his creating journey in early 1990s when he started as a sub editor in Sambad and Katha. As on today he has published four novels, five short story collections, one poetry collection, one essay collection and a travelogue. He has written the script of Sabyasachi Mohapatra's award-winning film "Pahadara Luha". He has received many literary recognitions including Bhubaneswar Pustakamela Purasakr, Rajadhani Pustakamela Puraskar and Gyanada Katha Samman. He has been working as a journalist last twenty-five years and currently staying in Bhubaneswar with his wife and son.
