An American with Irish ancestry, although too many generations back to help with citizenship in Ireland, Jane Fadely fell in love with Ireland on her first visit there and returned several times, finally moving there in 2013. It didn't take long for Ireland to feel like home, but after almost three years, Ireland's immigration policy changed. Jane and many other American had to leave the country, not wealthy enough to be welcome in Ireland as anything but a short-term (90 days) temporary visitor. Jane's life in Ireland was the inspiration for her non-fiction books and a work of fiction for children, There's a Leprechaun Under My Bed (2018). A second book for children, Apple Tree Lane, was also published in 2018. Jane currently resides in the Blue Ridge Mountains where she has found many similarities with the Irish culture she loved.
