This book looks at the extent to which pre-primary teachers in West Pokot County ECDE centered utilized child centered methods of learning; child needs approach, child interest approach, child discovery approach and activity based approach towards teaching and learning of the following activities; mathematics, languages, sciences, psychomotor and creative activities. Through a survey, it was found out that pre-primary teachers often used child centered methods in teaching and learning. The study concludes that pre-primary teachers continuous use of child centered methods resulted to improved in teaching and learning of the four activities in West Pokot County public pre-primary centers. Nevertheless, challenges existed in teaching due to inadequate provision of instructional facilities and teachers moderate level of awareness on the requirements of the new competency based curriculum.
