This study analyzes the actions taken by the Guardianship Council, the Municipal Department of Education (SMEI) and the Municipal Department of Social Development (SMDS) to eradicate child labor in the municipality of Itapetinga-BA. This research sought to show the reality faced by many children and adolescents in our municipality. The study brings to debate and reflection the role of public authorities, the community, schools, universities and other institutions in promoting actions aimed at eradicating child labor and effectively guaranteeing the right of children and adolescents to access and remain in education. Child labor continues to be a major social problem, even with the expansion of the protection system through the implementation of laws that guarantee human rights, such as the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), approved by Decree-Law No. 5,452 of May 1, 1943, the 1988 Federal Constitution (CF) and the 1990 Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA).
