The author, although well travelled, has always drifted home to the West Coast of Canada. Forty years were spent making a living from the ocean, first as a mariner working for various employers until age 24, then as a tug boat owner and partner of a fish processing company. Volunteer work as Chamber of Commerce director and later president, twinning society chairman and youth sports volunteer has led to an active interest in community affairs. The father of four grown children, Lawrence resides at Campbell River, Canada with his wife Betsy at a seaside residence within sight of his birthplace on Quadra Island. The author has written several short stories but Child of the Storm is his first attempt at a full length book.
