"Children of The Lambs" is the pulp-fiction adventure of Jack Rebman, a dysfunctional bounty-hunter, and Norma-Gene, Jack's opportunistic girlfriend. The story begins with the blissfully amoral couple finding a freshly-severed human head while beach-combing. While they are taking the bloody find out to their boat, violence erupts as more serious characters take the stage. Norma is soon kidnapped, and as the body count builds, Jack's father, who is the county sheriff, is forced to reveal his role as the well-paid enforcer for a rogue cloning operation. Human trafficking, lust with a heart, murder, and rogue science persist with a backdrop of disposable human replicas, most of whom are female, willing, and dumber than dirt. In other words, a book barely ahead of its time. Numerous other gamy characters abound, and the story ends with the violent deaths of four of the principal players. THE WOMEN: A tough-ass, horny, trailer mom; two, armed, semi-sweet, red-head sisters who usually know what they are doing; a cunning, Cuna Indian babe; a hot, black, ex-hooker now an opportunistic county deputy. THE MEN: The not-too-bright bounty-hunter with a cool, off-shore boat; an 85-year-old sheriff who still scores; a hunk of an Austrian enforcer; a teenage thalidomide boy who outsmarts and outplays; a Japanese clone expert who lives with his ancient, Alzheimer's riddled mother; two dangerous, amoral but wealthy scientists; a Cuban Jew married to a nasty, fully-cloaked Muslim; and a St Bernard critter-cam dog as a working P.I. THE SETTING: Florida Emerald Coast, Gulf of Mexico, and north to the Alabama line. Early present century. A SEQUEL is previewed with a scene in Chapter-40. Miniature humans, less than two feet tall, have been developed. Dr. Mannlicher displays a pair of them in "Eden", a huge terrarium where "Adam" and "Eve" live in a tiny cave with everything they need but without a clue as to their origin, and minus protection from a resident ferret. Cruel? Dr. Mannlicher says: "Hey, these guys are better off than the way God left us!" Legal? "These are American critters and they're going out into space! They're going to Mars! They're going to be 'The Sirens of Titan'!
