Autorenporträt
Jean Barman, EdD, is a professor emerita in the Department of Educational Studies at the University of British Columbia. A specialist in British Columbia history, the history of education in Canada, and Aboriginal education, Jean is the author of The West Beyond the West: A History of British Columbia and co-editor of First Nations Education in Canada: The Circle Unfolds. Mona Gleason, PhD, is an associate professor and the co-ordinator of the Society, Culture, and Politics in Education Program in the Department of Educational Studies at the University of British Columbia. Her research brings an historical perspective to the study of education, children, and youth in the 19th and 20th centuries.
