This is a personal book, written to the readers and persons interested in Child Development and more so those interested in cognitive development in children's education. The author focuses on the Relationship between Pre-school Children's Cognitive Performance and Their Teachers Verbal Behaviour. Many educational programmes have identified cognitive development as a priority domain at all levels of education. Hence, there is great value placed on good academic performance in Kenya too. Poor performance becomes a major concern to teachers, parents and educationists. Early childhood cognitive development is very important in every individual; what children experience makes a foundation for future learning. Teacher's influence is not the only factor that influences cognitive development, other factors at home and outdoor play activities are also said to contribute. However, teachers may not be aware of the impact of their verbal behaviours in classroom. Findings in this research will increase understanding on how to improve children cognitive development through positive teachers' verbal behaviour. Any observation and comments will be highly appreciated.
