It examines cultural exchanges between China and the US in the broad realms of the humanities, including comparative studies of Chinese and American literature, history, philosophy, religion, economics, and politics; teaching Chinese as a foreign language and teaching Chinese culture in the US; studies of Chinese Americans, and other topics. It aims to create a cultural dialogue to enhance mutual understanding and support between two world powers--China and the US--at a historical juncture when economic and political tensions between these two are on the rise.
Autorenporträt
Professor Li Chengjian is dean of the Foreign Languages School at Southwest Jiaotong University. She was awarded her Ph.D. in 2004 in English Language and Literature from Zhongshan University, Guangzhou. Her main academic interests are British poetry and Irish literature studies. Her monographs include A British-Irish Poet: Seamus Heaney and A Study on Contemporary Irish Drama. She has published more than 30 papers in major Chinese journals.
