Its population is estimated in 33.244 inhabitants, distributed in two comunas, Chipindo Sede and Bambi, that are constituited by seven regedorías, Tchitata, Camoanha, Sangueve, Capembe e Bundjei, Catapua, Bambi sede, and a great number of aldeias in each comuna.
