Autorenporträt
About Ruth Schimel, Ph.D. Career & Life Management Consultant How I Made My Way Forward: I have been a diplomat, management consultant, and professor. These days my practice includes four related professions: 1. career and life management consultant 2. non-fiction writer on professional and personal development 3. founder/manager of a small, nontraditional foundation to promote innovation and collaboration in the DC area 4. speaker, facilitator, and trainer So now I have several concurrent careers that all relate to and complement one another. All of my efforts bridge and integrate fields and disciplines in service to human development. As a student who wanted to enjoy school as well as pay for it over time, I devoted almost two decades to earning two advanced degrees (George Washington and Cornell Universities) while working. Findings from my doctoral research on how people discover their capacity for courage in everyday life continue to inspire my thinking and action. I continually learn from a range of sources-including my clients and my varied professional experiences.
