Andrew F. Walls (1928-2021) was a British historian of missions, best known for his pioneering studies of the history of the African church and a pioneer in the academic field of World Christianity. His primary work is collected in three volumes of essays. The first of these, The Missionary Movement in Christian History: Studies in the Transmission of Faith was judged by Christianity Today as one of the Top 100 Theological Works of the Twentieth Century. 31,000 words approximately. His other books are The Cross-Cultural Process in Christian History and Crossing Cultural Frontiers: Studies in the History of World Christianity. Mark R. Gornik, director of City Seminary of New York, is co-editor of Understanding World Christianity: The Vision and Work of Andrew F. Walls.
