Nearly forty years after their first wrapping of a public building, Skira, in association with the Museum of Modern Art of Lugano, proposes a look at the artistic production of Christo and Jeanne-Claude, the celebrated artist-couple who came into view in the second half of the 20th century by taking on an absolutely innovative role on the international artistic scene as environmental artists. The catalogue presents the couples artistic evolution from 1958 to the present from Christos first Packages and Wrapped Objects, items that were concealed with fabric and rope, created in the late 1950s and which instantly conferred him international recognition, to the The Gates, Central Park (1979 - 2005).
