On the one hand, urinary tract infection is known to be a factor in the decompensation of chronic kidney disease, and on the other, it is considered to be a risk factor for the occurrence of infections, particularly urinary tract infections. However, the clinical profile of urinary tract infections in CKD is little studied in our country, hence the idea of conducting this study with the aim of comparing the epidemiological, clinical, bacteriological, therapeutic and evolutionary profile of urinary tract infections in CKD patients with those with normal renal function.This retrospective study included 207 episodes of documented urinary tract infections in 196 hospitalized patients. Age was significantly higher in patients with CKD (p<0.001). This group of patients had more comorbidities (hypertension (p=0.001), dyslipidemia (p=0.002) and diabetes (p=0.034)), appeared to have significantly fewer clinical signs (back pain (p=0.002) and pollakiuria (p=0.016)) and required a significantly longer hospital stay (p<0.001). This bacterium was significantly more prevalent in patients with normal renal function (p<0.001).
