Autorenporträt
Kim Bok-Man (born December 3, 1934 in Korea) is an early pioneer of Taekwondo in the 1950s and 1960s in Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. He started martial arts training with a Buddhist monk in 1941 at the age of 7. After his discharge from the Korean army, where he was a Master Sargeant, he was called to Malaysia by General Choi Hong-Hi, Korea's ambassador, to teach Taekwondo to members of the government party in Malaysia and subsequently to develop the first English textbook about Taekwondo. In Malaysia, Bok Man Kim helped create some of the forms for Ch'ang Hon Taekwon-do, as well as other content for the book. He continued developing Taekwondo and called these later developments Chun Kuhn Taekwondo.
