In 1492 France, evading her evil stepmother, Cinder attends the king's ball where she catches the eye of Prince Louis and his younger brother Auguste, but as her affection for Auguste and aversion to the prince grows, she must decide if she can bear losing the boy she loves in order to leave the life she hates.
