The research deals with the positive and negative impact of KANA television movies on Ethiopian audiences and filmmakers. KANA television films have been watched in every home¿s television set at least during the researcher was conducting this research, alarmingly. As a result, the researcher was intended to study the pros and cons effect of KANA television movies on the watchers and local filmmakers, which directly or indirectly influences the local film industry. Cross-sectional design and qualitative approach used in relation to concepts and theories.The theories and concepts of filmmaking used as a tool to analyze the impact of these KANA television¿s movies were media effect and cultural imperialism theories. These theories and concepts are the most appropriate to examine the effects of movies on audience and filmmakers positively or negatively. Hence, the data is analyzed based on the above methodologies and theories in order to reveal the findings of the research. Therefore, the finding shows that KANA Television movies have affirmative as well as adversary effects on the audiences [film watchers], filmmakers and Ethiopian film industry.
