The study investigated the concept of experimental film by establishing its elements and examining the experimental cinematographic features. This research looked at selected cinematographic techniques in four Kenyan experimental films. The selected films that formed the basis of the study are Tamani, Maisha, Taharuki and Ndoto za Elibidi, which were selected due to their unique nature in terms of the use of the camera, lighting, sound and editing. Beneah Shapaya Azangalala has had over ten years experience in the African media and education industry. He is currently teaching at Kenyatta University while pursuing his doctoral studies in Film Acting in Africa. He holds a Diploma in journalism, a Bachelor of Mass Communication and a Master of Arts in Film Technology and Theatre Arts.
