This book, written in didactic language, was designed to provide academic support on Essential Oils (EO) for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the areas of Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Veterinary Science and Chemical Engineering. The book presents the topics in a systematic and logical order, emphasizing the use of the EO from the leaves of Cinamomum zeilanicum Blume with acaricidal activity. The work highlights the importance of determining the chemical composition of EOs, especially in the analysis of the majority components. The EO showed promising results in controlling the bovine tick Rhipicephalus microplus, demonstrating that the EO of this plant is a possible alternative to conventional synthetic products, since it has acaricidal action and shows parasite control.
