In 1967, Cold Harbor City, men shrouded in black murder the Scarlatti family. Detective Oscar Royal witnesses one of the massacres while on stakeout. In doing so, Oscar finds himself in the middle of a blood feud dating back to the 1700's and the very founding of his city. Faced with the desire to bring justice, Oscar must accept his city is already lost before it's too late. When she was a child, Lila Winters witnessed her father beaten nearly to death and dragged away never to be seen again. The event wounded her as a child, but as an adult, it motivates her to find Michael Desantis, the man that murdered her father, at any cost. Lila traveled to Cold Harbor City to speak to Alfonso Machetti, a powerful captain in the Scarlatti crime family, but when they are murdered, Lila's quest is put on hold to discover the truth behind the massacre. When Detective Oscar Royal approaches her about it, the two find themselves embroiled in a deadly war whose only rule is kill or be killed. And there is Isaac Klaus. As the leader of the German born gang known as the Sons of Honor, Isaac has come to Cold Harbor City to reclaim it and he's brought an army with him. In the second novella of the epic series that will define the last chapter of the American Mob, C.A. Love has crafted another dark, twisted, and romantic tale that continues the story of the last great mafia family, the Machetti family. Witness the continuation of a legacy born in blood and raised within a city that isn't just a city, it's his birthright.
