French historian, politician, and academic François Guizot was born in 1787 and died in 1874. Throughout France's July Monarchy, he held the positions of Minister of Education and Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the 19th century, Guizot was a well-known figure in French intellectual and political circles and was instrumental in the growth of the liberal movement there. Additionally, he is renowned for his influential works on French history, such as "The History of Civilization in Europe" and "The History of France from the Earliest Times to the Year 1789."
