Walter Crane (1845-1915) was a British artist who became renowned for his work during the Arts and Crafts Movement and especially for his illustrations for children's books. A student of the artist and critic John Ruskin, he was also influenced by artists such as William Morris. As well as his work for children's titles, he also wrote poetry and produced designs for stained-glass windows.
