Autorenporträt
From entering the school system, Kelly and her teachers noticed that she was having a hard time with the lessons. At the age of 9, Kelly went with her mom to a specialized doctor who diagnosed her with specific learning disabilities. Kelly worked with teachers and her the school program leaders to fill the gap on how she learns and how the curriculum was typically taught. These efforts of working together created equity in her access to the Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) which is a protected right under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). Today, Kelly shares her learning experiences with others so they too can find the help they need.
