Just like the moose, Betty prefers eating plants and being outdoors. She was inspired to write this story as she walked along the Coastal Trail in Anchorage, Alaska. Betty has lived in Alaska for over four decades and has often stopped her car to let moose cross the road. Her background includes working as an substitute elementary school teacher and as proprietor of a retail art store. Betty combined her lifelong interest in reading, art and outdoor activities to create this story. A kid at heart, Betty loves to spend time with children especially reading or making art!
