Mary A. Miller has been active in nursing practice, nursing education, and educational administration.' She specialized in gerontological nursing and taught nursing of adults in both baccalaureate and associate degree programs.' She developed and taught courses in clinical teaching methods, nursing leadership, and physical assessment 'in a baccalaureate RN completion program.' She has co-authored two books, Client Education: Theory and Practice (1st ed.) and Critical Thinking Applied to Nursing, in addition to articles and conference presentations.' A unique feature of the current edition of Client Education: Theory and Practice is its emphasis on critical thinking within the framework of teaching and learning.' She has received two distinguished service awards, one from Metropolitan State College of Denver and one from the State of Colorado Office of Youth Services.'
