This study focuses on the impact of climate variability on cashew nut production in the commune of Glazoué in central Benin. It is based on the calculation of agro-climatological stress indexes (ISA), deviation from minimum value (Emin) from rainfall, temperature, and relative humidity data from the Savè station over the period 1985-2015. In addition, the estimation of agricultural statistics (cashew nuts) is made with producers over the period 2009-2018 for correlation with climatological data. The average interannual rainfall is 1084.19 ± 177.4 mm in the commune of Glazoué over the period 1985-2015 and is marked by 41.93% of surplus years, 12.90% of normal years and 45.16% of deficit years. In addition, the mean temperature varies from 25.5 ± 0.33°C in August to 30.4 ± 0.63°C in March on a monthly scale and is increasing at an annual rate of 0.04°C. Monthly average relative humidity ranges from 52% in January to 81% in August. Finally, strategies have been developed to deal with the sensitivity of cashew nut production by producers.
