The category of injuries worldwide is dominated by those incurred in road crashes. India has one of the highest road accident rates in the world. There has been a steady rise in the casualties in road accidents in the country .Road traffic injuries put heavy burden on health services. Hence present work is carried out to study the types and factors involved in occurrence of road traffic injuries. Among 350 road traffic injury cases, 288 (82.3%) were males and 62 (17.7%) were females. The average age was 32.5 yrs and highest numbers of victims were in the age group 20 29 yrs. . Common injuries were extremities (74.9%) and head (56.3%). The book will be helpful to policymakers key professionals, students and will be useful guide to health administrators and health workers.
