This joint conference is a result of an agreement between ADINGOR (Asociación para el Desarrollo de la Ingeniería de Organización), ABEPRO (Associação Brasileira de Engenharia de Produção), AIM (European Academy for Industrial Management) and the IIE (Institute of Industrial Engineers), and took place at TECNUN-School of Engineering (San Sebastián, Spain) from July 13th to 15th, 2016.

The book includes the latest research advances and cutting-edge analyses of real case studies in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management from diverse international contexts, while also identifying concrete business applications for the latest findings and innovations in operations management and the decisions sciences.
Autorenporträt
Elisabeth Viles holds a PhD from the University of Navarra (Physics Applied Program) and a BA in Mathematics Science from the University of Zaragoza. She is certificated Six Sigma Black Belt.  In this moment, she is Associate Professor in Statistics and Probability and Industrial Statistics at TECNUN, Engineering School of the University of Navarra. She also is the head of Industrial Management Department and Industrial Management Degree coordinator in TECNUN. She has been actively conducting and publishing research on applying statistical thinking tools and others continuous improvements methodologies in industry for more than ten years. She is the responsible for the Sustainable Improvement Research Group at TECNUN and she belongs to Statistical Design and Data Analytics Group from University of Navarra.  She is conference speaker in different postgraduate courses related to quality management, continuous improvement management, Six Sigma implementation and Black Belts training. She regularly reviews articles from different International Journals. Nowadays she is taking part to the Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) for the TQM Journal. Marta Ormazabal has studied Industrial Engineering at TECNUN, University of Navarra (Spain), where she also received her Ph. D degree in 2013. She is currently teaching "Economics and Business" and "Business Administration" and she holds sessions about environmental management. Her research area is focused on environmental management within industrial companies and more specifically on the implementation of Circular Economy in SMEs. She has actively participated in research projects and has published articles in this area. Furthermore, she is a reviewer of articles in several journals of this area. Her research field is quite international, as she has been doing research about environmental management in other countries, such as in the United Kingdom (University of Leeds) and in Portugal (University Nova de Lisboa). Álvaro Lleó is assistant professor of the Industrial Management Department at Tecnun-School of Engineering of the University of Navarra. He teaches "Organizational Behavior" and "Economics and Business" in different Undergraduates Degrees and Master Programs. He received his PhD from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where he also studied Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management. He was Fellow Researcher at the RCC of Harvard University and Visiting Scholar in the CBE of Bentley University. Previously, he worked in different project of the automobile sector and as a human resources consultant. He has actively participated in research projects and has published articles in this area. His research areas are the study of human factor in continuous improvement environment and mentoring in high school. Furthermore, he is a reviewer of articles in several journals.
