Janette is an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and currently serves as an associate minister at Allen Chapel AME Church located in Omaha, Nebraska.She is an accomplished playwright, director and producer in 2002 Janette's first stage production titled Sistah Girl, was a debut hit that received rave reviews. Sistah Girl Revisited debuted in 2005. As a tribute to a beloved deceased cast member Sistah Girl Now & Again was premiered in 2008 at the Witherspoon Concert Hall. Cloudy Witness: Blessedly Assured and its sequel Finding a Happy Medium: Let the Redeemed Say So weren't long in coming to fruition.Janette was a featured personality in the Omowale Akintudne's 2009 Emmy Award-winning documentary, 'An Inaugural Ride to Freedom: The Legacy of a People, a Movement, and a Mission,'. The documentary was a depiction of a cross country bus trip made by college students, and members of the Omaha community to the inauguration of President Barack Obama. She was later cast in Akintunde's 2010 film `Wigger. 'As a prior military family, Janette and Jerry, husband of fifty years, arc both native North Carolinians have traveled extensively to such faraway places such as the Bahamas, Germany, France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.The Joneses are the proud parents and grandparents of three adult children and three grandchildren.
