A kid under Clyde's bed! Oh, no! Could it be true? What is a brave little monster to do? Clyde the monster can not fall asleep. When his momma asks why, Clyde finally reveals the fear he did not want to spread: A beastly kid is under his bed! He tries to convince his momma that he can smell it, hear it, feel it, and see it. Unconvinced, Clyde's momma wonders if it were true and says to her brave little monster, "Maybe we can find a clue." As they investigate each smell, sound, touch, and sight, can Clyde and his momma solve the mystery of the kid under the bed? Through playful rhyme and rhythm, and a delightful sprinkling of humour, author Gaynor Levisky shows children how to find courage and challenge their thoughts. The world isn't always as we think, and if Clyde is to ever have a good night's rest again, he must learn to face his fears and change his perspective.
Autorenporträt
Gaynor Levisky holds a BA in psychology and is a Master Certified Coach with over 25 years of experience in adult education. She was inspired to write for children after years of hearing, "I wish I knew that when I was a kid." Her hope is to teach children the lessons she shares with adults: Our minds are tricky places - it is not always in our best interest to believe everything we think, and the possibility exists that what we tell ourselves might not be true. In her first children's book, Clyde the Monster, and the Kid Under the Bed, Gaynor coaches children, and perhaps even the adults who are reading it, how to question their beliefs about a situation to reduce stress and improve health and wellness. Gaynor lives in Canada with her husband, their two teenage children, and the family zoo-two dogs, a budgie, and a lizard...so far, no monsters!
