"I've found that if you will stop and listen, everyone has a story worth telling." He says he spent a lot of time in the state and at the Indian mounds mentioned in his book. "I've stood on them and wondered who built such a marvel and just left." Larry V. Williams grew up in Western North Carolina. He worked on his family farm, shadowed by the Great Smoky Mountains. Inspired by Western novelist Louis L'Amour, Williams says his next books will be about the Civil War. A construction worker, he lives with his family in Robbinsville, North Carolina.
