Tarry Bailey is a father, son, poet, service member, fitness guru, and entrepreneur. He is the youngest of ten children and one set of twins his mother gave birth to. Growing up, Tarry's mother would tell him, "To you, son, everyone is a friend, you have no enemies," and that he needed to share his love and passion with the world. Tarry graduated from Ballard High School in 1989 in Louisville, Kentucky. Shortly after graduating, he chose to serve his country and did so with honor joining the United States Navy in 1989. He then pursued a higher education after he got out of the navy. And in December 1999, he chose to reenlist and serve in the United States Army. Not only did he serve the navy and the army in 2003 but he also chose to become a soldier of the Kentucky Army National Guard. In November 2003, he self-published his first book of poetry (From Sea to Shore: Poetry of a Soldier). It was in 2004 that Tarry became a contractor overseas, serving in various communication roles supporting the US Army, coalition partners, and the people of Afghanistan. Being a contractor overseas allowed him to meet new people and experience new places and cultures. Tarry's experiences and the people he met shaped and molded his views of the world. Poetry was always a passion of Tarry's. With the encouragement of his family, friends, and even those he hardly knew, Tarry was inspired and influenced to convert his spoken words and poetry into greeting cards for individuals worldwide to enjoy. For love can be expressed in so many ways, by just a kind word, a helping hand, a smile, or sharing a meal. Love is everywhere. All one has to do is open their eyes and soul to see it. All one has to do is have good intentions and love in one's heart. With love, any and all issues can prevail. Tarry believes love holds the greatest power of all. In addition to Tarry's first book of poetry (From Sea to Shore: Poetry of a Soldier), he has also self-published the first installment of the Coffee Black Spoken Word Poetry coffee-table books and greeting cards (Coffee Black Spoken Word Poetry: Love Poetry, Stimulation for the Soul, Volume One, Coffee Black Spoken Word Poetry: Show Your Love, Because I'm Worth It, Volume Two).
