This book has been developed from a Master's Dissertation by Raphael Nhongo. It is an evaluation of cognition in term creation strategies that are used in the creation of new terms in the Ndebele general purpose dictionary. The research was carried out after realizing that the African languages are now fast growing through adoption of the concepts and the linguistic labels from their former colonial languages. The arguments advanced here prove that most of the Ndebele terms being created nowadays are as a result of adoption and transliteration and adoption and literal translation. The research that gave birth to this book was carried out through questionnaires and interviews. The book concludes by queering that through transliteration as a term creation strategy, most African Languages are fast becoming mutually intelligible with European Languages. Recommendations on the strategies that should be adopted in the creation of terms in Ndebele are given as the last part of the book.
