Application of carbon-epoxy composites as structural components in aerospace industry and in cold sections of gas turbine engines, have increased the need for their lighting strike protection, electrical conductivity circuitry and particle erosion resistance, which cannot be achieved without addition of metallic coating. Carbon-epoxy composites are temperature sensitive due to their relatively low glass transition temperatures and therefore thermal spraying methods cannot be used to deposit metallic coating without incurring a thermal damage. This book, therefore, provides the framework through which the metallic coating can be introduced on carbon-epoxy composites through Cold Gas Dynamic Spraying method which deposits particles at temperatures below their melting point. The work described herein will, therefore, be of great interest to players in the aerospace industry where carbon-epoxy composites are increasingly been used.
