CIL II2/14,2 bietet den ersten Teil der umfassenden Edition römischer, d. h. lateinischer und auch griechischer Inschriften aus Tarraco, der Hauptstadt der römischen Provinz Hispania citerior. Die heutige Stadt Tarragona besitzt überaus reiches römisches epigraphisches Quellenmaterial, das von großer Bedeutung u. a. für die Wirtschafts-, Sozial- und Kuturgeschichte nicht nur der römischen Provinz sondern des Römischen Imperiums ist. In diesem Faszikel werden von Géza Alföldy die Weihinschriften, Kaiserinschriften, darunter die berühmte monumentale Inschrift aus dem Amphitheater, und Ehreninschriften kritisch herausgegeben. Die insgesamt etwa 400 Inschriften werden durch Fundgeschichte, Fundbeschreibung, Fotos, Zeichnungen, Bibliographie und ausführlichem Kommentar dokumentiert.
