Our hand drawn designs include building a giant sand castle, animals you would find at the beac, putting together a 2 foot lighthouse to guide the sailboat, fun facts, and much more! For beginner skills we recommend following along the dotted lines & for more advanced scissor users they can cut around the image outlines for a more precise cut. A & J Books is a women owned small business run by two sisters and moms of boys. We design scissor activity books, journals, and planners for families to have a creative outlet at home or on the go. We were inspired by the shift we all experienced in 2020; took the resources we personally used to cope with the loss of our father and parenting during a pandemic, to create a business that could help out others.Design Director:"A" is a stay at home mom that spent the last few years teaching her son through creative play, art, & cooking from scratch. Prior to becoming a mom, she was the head of operations for a women's clothing line in Los Angeles. She took her first art class at 5 & has always had an artistic eye ever since. When J mentioned publishing, she immediately thought about making children's products that provided a variety of ways to learn because she felt that there was something lacking within the scissor book genre. When she's not working, you can find her enjoying nature or indulging in new restaurants in the P.N.W with her family.Head of Operations & Marketing:"J" has the amazing ability to network, loves to connect with like-minded people, & is eager to expand her knowledge from those connections. She is a wife & mom of one boy. She was in the restaurant industry for 20+ years & the pandemic pushed her to pursue a career change. A & J Books was born from her idea of getting back into entrepreneurship. After our father passed in 2017, she found journaling as a way to adjust her mindset & track her personal & professional goals. When she isn't working, you can find her at the beach with her family in San Diego or testing a new recipe at home. We hope you benefit from the books as much as our families have!
