Autorenporträt
Laurie Hartsook began drawing and painting as a young child, but her experience as a teacher in Waldorf Schools gave her the opportunity to share that passion. She has taught children from age 4 to 14, weaving art into the curriculum. From painting to paper mache to perspective drawing, Laurie brought the transformative power of art. Working with pure watercolors, she enjoyed telling stories to young children, stories that spoke to the character of each color. As a Waldorf teacher, she worked with the four temperaments as outlined by Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf education. These personality types can be illustrated with different colors. While working with a home hospital student, Laurie was finally inspired to follow her dream of writing and illustrating books.
