Mr. Đồng Sỹ Hưng is a native of Quảng Bình Province-Vietnam who joined the Vietnamese People's Air Force in 1965 and went to flight school, where he learned to fly the MiG-17 and then the MiG-21. In 1973, he was assigned to the 921st Fighter Regiment-371st Air Force Fighter Division. Đồng graduated from the Political Sciences Academy in Moscow (1981). He received his doctoral degree at the Moscow Political Sciences Academy in 1988, and bachelor’s degree at Hanoi University of Foreign Studies (English language, 1994). Đồng was head of faculty of VNP AF Academy (1988); He later move to the aviation industry and was the chairman and CEO of Vietnam Airlines (1998-2011).
