Book begins with the definition of child pornography in the generic and strict sense and discusses how the progressive nature of information technology plays an important role in making, producing, disseminating, and storing sexually explicit materials. The book focuses on different legal provisions enacted by the United States of America, India, and the Kingdom of Thailand regarding child pornography preventive measures initiated by these countries and the reason behind choosing these countries for the purpose of this study. Thereafter, the study focuses on the question of how and why child pornography is a grave problem and a challenge confronting law enforcement agencies, Police authorities, Judicial bodies, and CivilSociety. The research then goes on to discuss and explain certain important issues and challenges surrounding child pornography.

Dr. Kavita Lama arbeitet als Assistenzprofessorin an der juristischen Fakultät der Universität Kalkutta in Westbengalen. Sie absolvierte ihren BA.LL.B. an der Universität Sikkim, ihren LL.M. an der National Law University, Jodhpur, und ihren Doktortitel am Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan. Sie hat in verschiedenen nationalen und internationalen Seminaren Forschungsarbeiten veröffentlicht und präsentiert.
