Communion is an inexhaustible mystery -- a gift of God's grace. Yet because it is familiar we sometimes take it for granted. Though theologians may disagree about exactly what happens in and through the sacrament, we all agree that something happens -- at the Lord's Supper we are changed. Gondola explores the wonder of communion in these captivating and well-illustrated sermons. How often are sermons engaging, edifying, and instructive... all at once? What grips me most is the sense that for him preaching is not a chore but a joy... I find in his sermons theological clarity without the heaviness of a scholastic. There is also careful attention to the text that prevents lapsing into a bland folksiness. Rev. Bennie E. Whiten Jr. Minister and President, Massachusetts Conference United Church of Christ Alex A. Gondola Jr. is senior pastor of the Dennis Union Church (United Church of Christ) in Dennis, Massachusetts (located on Cape Cod).
