The purpose of this book is to analyse the interest in investing in commodities for private investors and to underline the change of attitude of private investors especially the average investor towards this asset class. Today the benefit of commodities investment are well known, they bring balance to a portfolio, can be used as an inflation hedge, have low correlation to equities and bonds which according to modern portfolio theory should result in reduced risk without necessarily reducing returns.

Marine Gauthier obtained her MSc degree in International Finance in 2009 at SKEMA and Westminster University. With eight year¿s experience in the financial sector, she is nowadays the CEO of MAEL a holding company dedicated to wine. She has recently obtained her MSc in Wine Management conferred by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine.
