The Etruscans replaced missing teeth with artificial teeth carved from the bones of oxen. Modern Implant Dentistry began in the early 19th century. The introduction of endosseous dental implants as an option for restoring partially and fully edentulous patients has revolutionized dental treatment.Dental implant placement is not free of complications, as complications may occur at any stage. Careful analysis via imaging, precise surgical techniques and an understanding of the anatomy of the surgical area are essential in preventing complications.
