Community Theatre has always addressed the problems of communities and attempts to move community members from a state of passive acceptance of faith to a state of critical consciousness. In the Frerian sense this capacity of community theatre makes it a tool for liberation from problems and in this instance from lack of community organization. This project describes the attempt to organize Nkalagu community through community theatre. Nkalagu is a bitterly divided community, with a history of feuds, lack of cooperation and absence of community cohesion. Under these conditions, all development efforts were unable to see the light of the day. This was the context which propelled the use of community theatre in order to address the problem of lack of community organizing in Nkalagu on 26th December, 2007. As a result of the community theatre works, community members were able to see the folly in their behaviours as attested to by their confessions during the post-production discussion.
